Don Det

Don Det is small island in a part of the Mekong known as Four Thousand Islands. Pretty laid back there, the natural surroundings is the big draw here.

Did a little cruise up the river, and it started pouring rain part way through.

Walked over to Don Kong, the bigger island and checked out Lyphy Falls. Though they seemed more like rapids than falls to me, but whatever.

Other than that just chilled out and relaxed here.

Some photos from the cruise.

one of the Four Thousand Islands, I guess.

This is probably why they say its the rainy season.

Sunset on the Mekong.

Idyllic countryside.

Buddhist temple.

Lyphy Falls.

A little bamboo forest in the rain

An old bridge from the French colonial days.

Almost all the building are built on stilts so no worries about flooding.
